System Requirements
To ensure that Syndaris works reliably and smoothly, your smartphone should meet the following requirements:
- Android 14 or newer
- At least 6 GB of free storage space (app, AI model and future updates)
- At least 8.0 GB of memory (RAM)
- Internet connection only for downloads, updates and optional online AI features
- A powerful smartphone is recommended for offline AI.
Note: Since Syndaris runs the AI directly on your device, older or less powerful smartphones may operate at a lower speed. Approximately 6 GB of free storage space is recommended for installation. After installation, the required storage space may increase due to updates or additional language and AI models.
Internet Connection Later On
The Basic version works offline after setup. An internet connection is only required for downloads and updates. Plus and Premium models additionally use optional online services and require an internet connection for these services.
Performance and Temperature
Syndaris was developed and optimized for current Android devices running Android 14 or newer. On most smartphones with Android 14 or newer, the app runs reliably and without any significant limitations.
Since the offline AI performs many calculations directly on the device, increased processor load and slight warming of the device may occur – particularly during longer conversations or on older or less powerful smartphones. This is completely normal for AI models running locally.
Recommendation for Older Smartphones
If you use an older or less powerful smartphone, we recommend using a Plus or Premium model. Computationally intensive AI requests are processed online, reducing the load on your device and generally providing faster responses.
Installation Information
Why the Installation Works a Little Differently
Syndaris is deliberately offered directly through our website rather than through an app store.
This allows us to remain independent of additional store services, advertising systems and tracking infrastructures.
This approach is part of our core principle:
Syndaris aims to rely on as few external dependencies as possible while giving you as much control over your data as possible.
Android protects your smartphone with additional security prompts when apps are installed from outside an app store. For this reason, you must explicitly confirm the download and installation of Syndaris once.
These prompts are normal and do not mean that there is anything wrong with Syndaris.
Please download Syndaris exclusively from the official website syndaris.de.
Start the Installation
1. Download the App
The easiest way to install Syndaris is directly on your smartphone.
- Open our website on your smartphone or
- Scan the provided QR code.
The installation file (APK) will then start downloading automatically.
Android may warn you that apps downloaded from the internet could potentially be harmful.
This warning is completely normal because the download does not come from an app store.
Only confirm the download if you downloaded Syndaris directly from syndaris.de.
The Syndaris_Founding_1-0-0.apk file is now located in the Downloads folder on your smartphone.
2. Start the Installation
After the download is complete, open the installation file and follow the Android instructions.
If Android reports that your browser or file manager is not allowed to install unknown apps, open Settings and enable “Allow apps from this source”. Then return to the downloaded APK and start the installation again.
Because Syndaris is provided directly through our website rather than through an app store, Android may display a security warning.
Don't worry – this is completely normal.
Please confirm the installation and follow the additional instructions on the screen.
Once the installation is complete, you will find Syndaris on your smartphone just like any other app and can open it from there.
3. First Start
When you start Syndaris for the first time, the setup assistant opens automatically.
You will be asked to:
- Enter your preferred username
- Accept the Privacy Policy
After that, the basic setup is complete.
4. Download the AI Model
No AI model is installed when you first start the app.
A pop-up window will appear with the message Download model. Once you confirm, the download starts automatically. Depending on your internet connection, the download and setup usually take about two to three minutes.
After that, Syndaris is fully ready to use.
5. Select a Language
By default, the offline model is available in several languages, including:
Arabic, Chinese, German, English, French, Greek, Hindi, Japanese, Italian,
Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian.
Additional language models will be available for download in the future.
6. Adjust Settings
After installation, you can configure Syndaris according to your preferences.
These settings include:
- User profile
- Language
- Appearance
- AI settings
- Communication
- Show icons in the footer
7. Updates
New versions of Syndaris are released regularly.
Under Settings → App Information, you can view your installed version number at any time as well as your personal App ID, which you may need later for support requests.
On our website, you can check whether a newer version is available and download it.
Note
The initial setup takes only a few minutes.
After that, your personal Syndaris team is available to you at any time – even without a permanent internet connection. Only optional online AI features require an internet connection later on.
